Home Care Workers lead fight for Medicaid Expansion to “Cover the Commonwealth”

In his budget address in February, Governor Corbett announced that he is not planning to allow Pennsylvania to opt in to Medicaid Expansion. Medicaid Expansion, a signature part of the Affordable Care Act (also known as “Obamacare”), would allow anyone making up to 138% of the poverty limit ($15,415 for a single person or $31,809 for a family of four) to receive Medicaid. This would cover between 600,000 and 800,000 Pennsylvanians who currently do not receive care, including many home care workers throughout the state.
